1. Product description

HPM Smooth Pro is a cement-based skim coat for walls and ceilings, made from high-quality cement, selected ultra-fine mineral aggregate and a specialist polymer admixture at the HPM plant in Phu Tho. The mix is highly plastic and is used as the finishing coat that leaves a smooth surface before paint.

Key properties

Smooth finish: graded aggregate with a maximum size of 0.5 mm reduces sanding and filler work.
Good adhesion: adhesion from 0.5 MPa, so the finish stays bonded to walls and ceilings.
Water retention: water retention from 90% limits rapid drying and hairline cracking.
Easy to apply: the mortar is plastic, drops less and floats easily, so the work goes faster.

Apply Smooth Pro over a base plaster. On newly built brickwork, plaster first with HPM ready-mix dry plaster, then apply the skim coat.

4. How to use and application steps

Application data

Mixing ratio: mortar to water 1 : 0.18 to 0.22 by weight, about 3.6 to 4.8 litres of clean water per 20 kg bag.
Coat thickness: 1 to 3 mm per coat.
Coverage: about 1.2 to 1.5 kg/m² for a 1 mm coat, depending on how flat the base is.
Substrate temperature: 12°C to 40°C.

Step 1: Prepare the surface

The surface must be clean, sound, and free of oil, grease and loose material. Saturate absorbent surfaces, but do not leave standing water.

Step 2: Mix the mortar

Put the measured water in a bucket, add HPM Smooth Pro gradually and mix until uniform. A hand mixer or low-speed mixer gives a smooth, plastic blend.

Step 3: Finish

Apply directly to the wall or ceiling with a steel trowel, in 1 to 2 coats of about 1 to 3 mm each. Level with a straightedge, then finish smooth with a float or steel trowel.

Storage and safety

Store in a dry place on pallets with the bag sealed. Shelf life is 12 months from manufacture. The mortar contains cement: wear gloves and goggles during application.
