1. Product description

HPM ready-mixed dry masonry mortar is a cement-based mortar mixed on an automatic line at the HPM factory in Ba Trai Area, Lien Chau Commune, Phu Tho Province. Components include cement, selected dried sand and specialized additives, weighed according to the design mix and then bagged at the factory. At the construction site, just add water according to the guided ratio and mix well.

The product has three grades M50, M75 and M100, achieving TCVN 4314:2022 certification issued by Opacontrol (certificate No. 33928A-CPS).

Differences from self-mixing mortar at the construction site

  • The mortar grade is correct in design: automatic weighing distribution, regardless of the way each worker measures sand and cement. The M75 sample tested at Opacontrol reached 9.1 MPa at 28 days, the standard requirement is 7.5 MPa.
  • Long operation time: the time to start setting of the test sample is from 248 to 255 minutes, the worker has time to align the bricks, less need to remove the dried mortar in the chute.
  • Maintain stable plasticity: the ability to keep fluidity reaches 82.0 to 82.5%, the mortar pulse is more even during the whole shift.
  • Compact construction site: no need for separate sand and cement gathering yards, suitable for works in the city, tight ground.
“With bricks that absorb water strongly, moisten the bricks before building but do not let water stagnate, the mortar will adhere more firmly.”

2. On-site applications

  • Type of bricks: terracotta bricks (solid bricks, hole bricks) and aggregate concrete bricks.
  • Items: interior walls, exterior walls, envelope walls, partition walls and load-bearing walls.
  • Type of works: civil housing, industrial works and technical infrastructure.

Choosing a mortar label by category

  • M50: building interior walls in people's houses, basic items or works that need to be cost optimized.
  • M75: the most common grade for building walls according to standard requirements.
  • M100: load-bearing walls, exterior walls, and areas that are frequently damp.

4. How to use and application steps

Construction Information

  • Mixing ratio: water is equal to 17 to 22% of the volume of dry mortar, equivalent to about 8.5 to 11 liters of clean water for 1 bag of 50 kg.
  • Mortar vein thickness: about 8 to 12 mm.
  • Reference norm (excluding loss): about 370 to 400 kg of dry mortar for 1 m³ of single wall. The actual amount used varies according to the type of brick, wall thickness and thickness of the mortar circuit.
  • Time to use after mixing: about 60 to 90 minutes.
  • Construction surface temperature: from 12°C to 40°C.

Step 1: Prepare

Clean the tile surface, remove dirt, grease and impurities. Strong water absorption tiles need to be moistened before building but do not allow water to stagnate.

Step 2: Mix the mortar

Put the quantified amount of water into the mixing tank, slowly pour in the HPM dry mortar and stir with a low-speed mixer until the mortar is flexible, homogeneous, and not clumpy. Do not add sand, cement or other materials.

Step 3: Build

Spread the mortar evenly on the tile surface with the appropriate vein thickness, place the tile and align as soon as the mortar is still flexible. Use up the mortar within the allowed time, do not use mortar that has started to set.

Step 4: Maintenance

Keep the mortar vein moist in the first days after construction, especially when it is hot and dry, to limit cracking due to rapid water loss.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, put on a pallet, do not put directly on the floor. Keep the bag tight, use on a first-in, first-out basis. Shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
